Outside of beverage, pastries, and the occasional cake slice, Caffè Casa didn’t have anything for its customer base to take home and keep. Despite its status as a cornerstone of Kalamazoo life, the cafe needed something more permanent to serve.
With college students, visiting family, and die-hard regulars making up the population of regulars, stickers seemed a great place to start. Cheap, grab-able, a regular reminder of where they’v been, stickers allowed both an expression of the brand and customers a way to conveniently support the shop.
In the competitive market of college town coffeepots, locally-owned and operated Caffè Casa needed something to make its mark.
The Concepts
The most important thing for ownership was to translate the impact they had made on their community in their 30+ years of business.
The cafe has always been a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. To celebrate this, we created a basic rainbow concept.
Throughout all its years in business, the custom, iconic neon sign has hung in the front window.
The store has sun motifs dotted across it and plants filling empty space. We continued this theme via a concept with a bright sun, flowering vines, and a hot coffee in the center.
